On 21 January 2026, the Kick-off Meeting (Transnational Project Meeting) of the European project FARMS 5.0 – Future-Aligned Resilient Modern Systems for Farmers Adhering to Industry 5.0 Principles towards Sustainable Agriculture took place in Cyprus, hosted by STANDO LTD. The project is funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training (KA220-VET).

Kick-off Meeting Highlights

FARMS 5.0 addresses the key challenges faced by European agriculture by integrating innovation, vocational education and training (VET), and the core principles of Industry 5.0. The project promotes sustainability and environmental responsibility while strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems. It also adopts a human-centric approach, placing farmers and agricultural professionals at the centre of technological transformation, and supports the responsible and meaningful use of advanced technologies in the agricultural sector.

The FARMS 5.0 project is implemented by a strong and interdisciplinary European consortium consisting of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (WUELS) as the Project Coordinator, The Polish Farm Advisory and Training Centre Not-for-Profit Sp. z o.o. (Poland), STANDO LTD (Cyprus), Fondacija Agro Centar za Edukacija FACE (North Macedonia), Infinitivity Design Labs (France) and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). The Kick-off Meeting focused on establishing a shared understanding of the project framework and its overall implementation strategy.

During the meeting, the most important provisions of the financial agreement were presented, including the general conditions, budget overview, as well as financial and contractual rules. Partners also discussed the main project assumptions, key milestones, governance structure, and the roles and responsibilities of each participating organisation.

In addition, an overview of the quality assurance system, risk management approach, and dissemination and visibility strategies was provided. The meeting also included a detailed presentation of the action plan, project timeline, and the expected deliverables.

Special attention was given to the structure and objectives of the project’s Work Packages (WP). These include Project Management, led by Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences; WP2 dedicated to the Cutting-edge Report on Agriculture 5.0 in Europe, implemented by STANDO LTD and Infinitivity Design Labs; WP3 covering the FARMS 5.0 VET Training Program, developed by Infinitivity Design Labs, Fondacija Agro Centar za Edukacija FACE, and STANDO LTD; WP4 addressing FARMS 5.0 micro-credentials and pilot actions, led by Infinitivity Design Labs in cooperation with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and STANDO LTD; and WP5 focusing on the Dissemination Pathway, coordinated by The Polish Farm Advisory and Training Centre Not-for-Profit Sp. z o.o.

The meeting concluded with a Joint Workshop on Agriculture 5.0 in Europe, which enabled partners to exchange perspectives, share expertise, and align their vision for the future of sustainable and resilient farming systems.

The Kick-off Meeting officially marked the launch of the FARMS 5.0 project. In the coming months, project partners will focus on research activities, the development of innovative vocational education and training content, the implementation of pilot actions, and extensive dissemination activities targeting farmers, educators, and key stakeholders across Europe.
